Aurora Sky

Community Guidelines

Last updated: June 2026
This is a starting draft. It is not a substitute for legal review and should be revisited before Aurora Sky is made available to the public.

Aurora Sky exists for live, real conversation between real people. No endless feeds, no permanent record — just people showing up and talking. These guidelines exist to keep that feeling intact. They're part of our Terms of Service.

The basics

Rooms

Anyone can create a room around a topic they care about. As a creator, you're not a moderator by default, but you're expected to help set the tone. Persistent rooms carry extra expectations, since more people rely on them being well-kept.

Badges

Badges reflect real things — verified accounts, sustained positive participation, recognised organisations. They aren't for sale and can be removed if the behaviour or status behind them no longer holds.

Manaia

Manaia is a quiet space for anyone affected by domestic or family violence. What's shared there isn't saved. If someone is in immediate danger, the right next step is calling 000, not waiting on a reply in the app.

Reporting and consequences

If you see something that breaches these guidelines, use the report option on the message. Reports are reviewed, and depending on severity, outcomes can range from a warning to a temporary mute to a permanent ban. Reports involving immediate danger to someone's safety are not treated the same as ordinary disputes and may be escalated to authorities where appropriate.

Why this matters

These guidelines aren't here to make Aurora Sky feel corporate. They're here so the people actually using it — including the ones who came here on a hard day — can trust that this is a place worth showing up to.
